Velolento is about the simple, timeless joy of riding a bicycle. Not for speed. Not for data. Not even for fitness, necessarily—but for the sheer pleasure of movement, freedom, and connection.
We believe bikes are for everyone. Not just the fast, not just the fit, not just the people in full spandex kits counting watts and grams or the backcountry warrior riding tech that the pushes the boundaries of performance. We’re not here to knock that—these are noble pursuits and they are valid and amazing parts of our bicycling culture. But at Velolento, we’re more interested in slowing down. Taking the long way. Choosing comfort over carbon, curiosity over cadence.
Too often, the bicycle industry pushes a narrative that equates cycling with performance. The latest gear, the lightest frame, the fastest ride. It’s exciting stuff, sure—but it can also make cycling feel exclusive, even intimidating. Like there’s a right way to do it. Like you need the costume to belong.
We reject that notion.
We ride in street clothes. We carry baskets and snacks and sometimes nothing at all. We ride heavy bikes and light bikes, old steel frames and new odd builds. We ride alone, with friends, with our kids, and with strangers who become friends along the way. We ride for transportation, for exploration, for sustainability, for fitness, and for joy—especially joy.
Velolento means “slow bike” in spirit, not in speed. It’s a mindset. A reminder to ride with intention. To notice more. To invite others in. To make cycling a lifestyle, not a performance.
If you’re the kind of person who thinks a good ride doesn’t need a finish line, you’re in the right place.
Welcome to Velolento. Let’s ride.
